Nyeri town is located at the foot of Mount Kenya. Did you know that Nyeri is the hometown of the late Nobel laureate Wangari Maathai and hosts the tomb of Robert Baden Powell, the founder of the Scout movement? Well, as the Girl Guides and boy scouts gather yearly and as the many mountain hikers ascend and descend the great Mount Kenya, locally dubbed Kirinyaga, Mountain of God, we are busy rescuing abandoned babies in and beyond Nyeri town.
Our Nyeri home opened its doors in 2006. It is registered as a Charitable Children’s Institution and provides a home for newborns and toddlers. It is comparatively the smallest in size but has made significant strides in rescuing babies. While we may not be registered as a Private Medical Centre, two Professional volunteer Doctors provide medical services weekly.
