Christmas campaign 2020

This year, we partnered with Mark Masai, a renowned media personality who was himself adopted as a child, to help us raise funds during Christmas.

NEW LIFE HOME TRUST CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT Friday, July 1 2022 at the Karen Country Club

Our second Charity Golf Tournament was again hosted at the Karen Country Club on a chilly Friday. Corporates and individuals in the golfing community supported our children’s medical fund. We thank our two main sponsors: Isuzu EA at Ksh 250,000.00 and Safaricom PLC at Ksh 250,000.00. The beverage sponsor of the day was Jetlak Foods Ltd. Golf prizes were donated by Rupas Gift Centre Ltd and were presented to 7 winners. Apart from financial support, we received various in-kind support through vouchers from hotels and restaurants that were used as raffle prizes, gifts and auction items.

The evening event began with the Golf Captain bringing the meeting to order at 7 pm and making the opening remarks. The MC of the night took his fellow golfers through the gift-giving and raffle prizes sessions. Lastly, speeches were made by the NLHT National Director, Dr Janet Mutinda, who then invited an NLHT Board member, Mrs Jaine Gichangi, to make some remarks.

NLHT Nairobi Annual Open Day: February 17 2023

This event celebrates adoptive parents and also seeks to offer critical information to prospective adoptive parents.

Partners Appreciation Day June 8 2023

The NLHT Partners Appreciation Day was held on June 8, 2023, at our Nairobi home (Turbo Road off Lenana Road). It was a 90-minute breakfast event from 8.30 am – 10.00 am. We appreciated our existing partners at the event and envisioned our new and potential ones. We also give awards and appreciation certificates to selected partners every year. We have many ways that you can partner with us, e.g.:

· Financially as an individual or organisation

· Offering professional Services and other in-kind donations

· Adopt and fund a project.

· Support a child through school.

· Volunteer your time to care for the babies.

Most guests attending our open days are adoptive or aspiring parents. We celebrated our annual Adoptive Parents Open Day on March 7, 2020. For the first time in history, we held it off-site. We were apprehensive about the turnout of the guests since the event venue was different from what they were used to, but it was successful. The guests appreciated the privacy, given that the event theme was “adoption disclosure”, a very thorny issue for most adoptive parents.

Big Family Reunion, February 16th 2019

2019 came with several activities, the most memorable being our Big Reunion celebrations in February. This event united most of our adopted parents, locally and internationally, and their children. The experience was terrific as speaker after speaker recounted New Life Home Trust’s success stories. Some parents recounted how they adopted their children at a very tender age! We also tracked many NLHT-adopted children from across the world who are now over 13 years old. Guests were pleasantly surprised by the videos these children sent us highlighting their achievements and messages hailing adoption. There were very few dry eyes as we ran the various videos during the event. We also used the event to honour our founders, Clive and Mary Beckenham, who have upheld the NLHT vision, selflessly caring for those under their care. Indeed, it was a day worth celebrating!

Fund Raising Gala Dinner at the Capital Club East Africa, June 8, 2019.

The Fundraising Gala Dinner was a Black-Tie event priced at Kshs. 50,000.00 per person.

More than 200 people were invited, with 100-120 honouring the invitation.

The MC conducting the night’s activities was Mr. Mwaniki Mageria; CEO of RiverWood Ensemble Filmmakers Association and a film producer in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. During the evening, he took the guests through table games, auctions, raffle prizes, videos, speeches, and more.

The evening began at 6 pm, with the first guests arriving at 630pm on the 6th floor of The Capital Club Cocktail area. Our Nairobi staff and the administrators of the Nakuru, Kisumu and Nyeri homes met them. Once registered, the guests walked to the NLHT photo booth and joined other guests in the dining area.

This evening event ended at approximately 9 pm with a cake-cutting ceremony, a gift presentation to Mr. & Mrs. Beckenham, and a vote of thanks from the NLHT National Director.
