Our Office Workers:

As you can imagine, taking good care of our properties, staff, donors, and well over 100 children generates a pile of paperwork. Thankfully, our office team have all the administrative acumen and professional proficiency to make them more than a match for the task. Of course, our offices are situated right in the middle of our homes. So don't be surprised to see our office workers sneaking away from their desks for a moment to play with their favourite tot.

Accounts Assistant

1. How did you come to work at New Life?
I used to work for DeLyde Associates Limited, who offered consulting services to New Life Home Trust. I eventually moved to an audit firm, who happen to be the current auditors of New Life Home Trust. After which, I officially re-joined New Life Home Trust.

2. What’s your favourite part of working with New Life?
It’s like giving back to society. Alternatively, I could’ve gone to work for some business with higher perks but it is really rewarding. I go home and feel like I have made a difference. Working with the children has enabled me to see that the rewards outweigh the perks.

3. What are some highlights from your time at New Life?
The tremendous growth in accounting capacity has been my highlight. The accounts team used to have one person but now we have a team! As a result, homes like Kisumu attain some sort of self-independence because of the co-operation of this team.

4. Looking forward, what is your biggest wish for New Life?
My biggest wish is for New Life to be self-sustainable. I would also wish to see the Kenyan population take up a larger stake in cash donations (as much as they do in kind). After all, this is about OUR CHILDREN!

Front Office Manager

1. How did you come to work at New Life?
I joined New Life in 2007. I was introduced by a friend, who was already working here. My first job was as Child Sponsorship Secretary.

2. What’s your favourite part of working with New Life?
I get to meet and interact with so many people, which I love. That has always been the case, but since I became the Front Office Manager, it has become even more so.

3. What are some highlights from your time at New Life?
The “before” and “after” transformation of the babies! Seeing how these little ones look when they first arrive, and then witnessing the change, the growth, the “glow” after just a few days here, gives me so much joy. Watching them leave, a few months later, with their “forever” families makes my heart sing.

4. Looking forward, what is your biggest wish for New Life?
I want to see New Life not only maintain the very high standards that we have set for ourselves, but even exceed them.
